Partnerships

Trail stewardship is not a solo effort. It works best when organizations, agencies, and communities collaborate with shared goals and clear roles.

1H Foundation exists to support and strengthen the work already happening on the ground — filling gaps, increasing capacity, and helping ensure trail systems remain open, safe, and sustainable.

Who We Partner With

We collaborate with a range of partners who care about public land and long-term access, including:

  • Land managers and agencies

  • Nonprofit and volunteer organizations

  • Clubs and user groups

  • Event organizers and community programs

  • Businesses aligned with stewardship and access

Partnerships are built around trust, clarity, and a shared commitment to doing the work well.

What Partnership Looks Like

Partnerships with 1H can take many forms, depending on needs and capacity. These may include:

  • Supporting trail maintenance or restoration projects

  • Providing trained crews or logistical support

  • Coordinating volunteer work days

  • Sponsoring tools, equipment, or project costs

  • Collaborating on stewardship programs or pilot initiatives

We aim to be flexible, responsive, and transparent in how we work together.

Our Approach

1H Foundation is volunteer-led. Our role is to support stewardship efforts through coordination, execution, and follow-through — not to duplicate work or create unnecessary complexity.

We prioritize:

  • Clear communication

  • Defined scope and expectations

  • Accountability for outcomes

  • Respect for existing systems and expertise

Strong partnerships allow trail work to move forward efficiently, especially when timing and conditions matter.
